Aline Berger DeMayo, age 91, a Holocaust survivor, passed away on June 18, 2021 at age 91. She was predeceased by her husband, Abraham, daughter Vickie Ann Hechter, and brother Henri Berger, also a Holocaust survivor.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl(Gary) Robinson; son, Scott (Marlene) DeMayo;son-in-law David (Marlene Schancupp) Hechter; grandchildren, Zachary (Kate) Robinson, Alexander Robinson; Alicia (Lionel Johnson) Hechter, Evan DeMayo, Griff DeMayo, Cody (Lia) Castiglia, and Chelsea Castiglia; great-grandchildren, Eliana, Lucas, Nicholas and Noah; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces & nephews.
Aline emigrated from France in 1950 with her brother Henri on the Queen Elizabeth. She was a fabulous cook, loved listening to music, watching cooking and travel shows, and was a QVC queen. She loved playing canasta and few could beat her at a game of scrabble. And how she loved staying in touch with everyone on her smartphone!
Many thanks to all of her caregivers and staff at Touching Hearts, the entire staff at Strong Hospice, Dee Schwartz and everyone at Jewish Family Services, Dr. Algase and staff and the St. John Meadows family.
Graveside Services will be held on Friday, June 25th at 10:30 am at White Haven Memorial Park, those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the Main Entrance to the cemetery at 10:15 am. For those unable to attend, you can view a livestream of the funeral service by clicking HERE.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jewish Family Services (Donate Online) or to Foodlink (Donate Online).
