Passed away on January 1, 2026, at the age of 79. Predeceased by his  father Allen Worob Sr., his mother Doris, his brother Malcolm, and his sister Eileen. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Nava, his daughter Yael, his son Ammitai, and his grandson Jack.

Allen was born in Irvington, NJ and raised in West Orange, NJ where he excelled in athletics and began a lifelong intellectual pursuit focused on philosophy and theology. He completed undergraduate studies at Transylvania University in Kentucky, and a Master’s in Philosophy at the University of Kansas, and then studied at the Greenberg Institute in Jerusalem, when he met Nava. They were married in 1972, and together self-published two theological texts: The Divine Connection and Duties of the Mind.

Moving to the United States, and eventually setting up a home in Rochester, NY, Allen continued to pursue both Jewish learning, teaching, and service. He led holiday services at the Hillel at the University of Rochester, and presided over holidays as both host and guest at his family’s house and the homes of friends.

Allen’s work career encompassed institutional investing as well as business start-up consulting as part of vocational rehabilitation for individuals with disabilities. In retirement he continued to write and advise on matters ranging from business to the study of philosophy. He enjoyed intellectual and philosophical humor such as Tom Lehrer and Monty Python.

Allen lived in accordance with deeply held principles. He was extremely proud of his family, who along with friends will miss him dearly.
