The family has kindly asked for the courtesy of no flowers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Lung Association in Brooke’s memory.

Our beloved Brooke Gordon-Hare passed away on October 9, 2025 at the age of 73.  She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Richie Hare, her daughter Arley Jurjens (Kyle and grandson Dax), her sister Alix (Sandy), brother Jeff (Sue) and numerous cousins.

Brooke loved life, especially the outdoors and particularly the Adirondack Mountains. She and her family vacationed there almost every summer exposing family and friends to the places she loved.  She and Richie always had a rescue dog that added another layer of love in their house.  She was always the empath who thrived on helping people whether as an Assistant Dean of Students at the U. of Rochester, the head of counseling at Planned Parenthood, or as a Social Worker in the Rochester City School District.

At home she was half of two best friends and a mother who was fiercely supportive of her daughter while allowing her to navigate the world in her own way.  She loved her grandson in the same way. Brooke lived by the Hebrew philosophy ‘Tikkun olam’, which is the concept of working toward performing actions intended to repair and improve the world.  The world lost and the universe gained an angel.  Sweet Dreams, Brooke.
