I am deeply saddened by Burt's passing, but consoled in the memories of him at the JCC. A straight-shooter with a wonderful-if-dry sense-of-humor. May your family, and all of his many, many friends be comforted in their memories. Burt was a super man.

I met Burt in the weight room at the JCC. We used to chat as we worked out. What a fine man. Then I found out that he was a companion to Phyllis who is another very special person, a true community treasure. Reading his obituary made me aware that Ken and Mike were his sons. I met them in the mid 1970’s as they were members of the BBYO group that I was an advisor to. It’s a reminder of what an incredible interconnected world we live in. I’ll miss not seeing Butt when I return to the JCC. He inspired me every time I saw him working out. I was also very impressed with his conversations well past age 90. May his memories be for a blessing.
