David R. Bulin, Sr. passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023 at The Jewish Home of Rochester, having just celebrated his 83rd birthday on Dec. 31. He was predeceased by his father, Rev. George V. Bulin, Sr., mother, Mabel H. Bulin, and brother, Edward J. Bulin. Dave was raised in Bellmore, L.I. He was a graduate of SUNY Cobleskill in Agricultural Economics and attended Hartwick College and the University of Georgia. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Judith, his brother, George V. Bulin, Jr., his sons, David, Jr. and Bruce, granddaughter, Jennifer (Alex) Cavaliere, brothers in law Russell (Susan) Goldstein and Lee Goldstein, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dave was in the U.S. Army for 3 years and in the New York State and U.S. D.A. Food Inspection Services until he retired after 41 years of dedicated service. Dave loved history and restoring their old home in Fairport and the one in E. Bloomfield that was on the town’s Bicentennial Tour. He was a President of the Perinton Historical Society and enjoyed visiting archaeological sites in the U.S. and Europe, reconstructed villages, and homes. He had a life-long love of ocean beaches, especially time spent at their home in Nag’s Head, and sailing.

Our family thanks the dedicated and knowledgeable staff of the Jewish Home of Rochester for their understanding this past 18 months. Very special thanks to Michael and all of the compassionate, caring staff on 4 SW for the many kindnesses to Dave and all of our family. In lieu of flowers, you may make donations in Dave’s memory to the Jewish Senior Life Foundation, Temple B’rith Kodesh Foundation, the Nature Conservancy, or a charity of your choice.

A graveside service will be held at White Haven Memorial Park in Fairport, NY at 1 PM Sunday, January 15. Meet at the entrance gate. There will also be time to visit with family on Monday from 2-4 at their home.
