Dr. Okrent, George passed away on July 6, 2022 at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife Patti Goodwin; his children Joshua Okrent (Guiomar Grau); Elijah Okrent (Katrina Paz); Elana Okrent (Miles Philips); grandchildren Ari, Daniela, and Aitana; his brother Mark (Charlotte Witt); nephews and nieces, Nicholas Okrent, Valerie Frechette, Johnathan Witt, Anna Witt, Gina Brantley, Richard McKenna II, Michael Rubino; great-nephews and great-nieces, Lee Alan Markey, Jr, Tara Li, Emmy Markey, Richard McKenna III, Kelsie McKenna, Karianne McKenna, Robert Rubino, Nathan Rubino, Betsy Okrent, Molly Okrent, Alexander Okrent; one great-great-nephew, Jin Chen Li ; and many friends.
George was an anesthesiologist at Highland Hospital for 20 years. In retirement he enjoyed traveling, visiting children and grandchildren, eating lunch with friends, scuba diving with his son Eli, volunteering at the Museum and Science Center, discussing current events at the JCC, and playing golf.
George’s Memorial Service will be held on MONDAY, August 29, 2022 at 1 PM in Temple Sinai (363 Penfield Road).
