Sun City Center, FL: Passed away on August 20th at the age of 71.  Predeceased by his father Alfred, mother Evelyn, and brother Robert.  He is survived by his dear cousin Helene Blacker and many relatives and friends in Rochester and Sun City, Florida.

Haskell grew up in Rochester and had his Bar Mitzvah at Beth Joseph Center.  The extended Smith family was very large and Haskell was always at all of the family gatherings.  He loved family and loved telling jokes.  After the untimely death of his father in 1980, Evelyn and Haskell eventually moved to Sun City, Florida.  They enjoyed the community and living in warm weather year-round.  After Evelyn passed away in 2011 Haskell continued to live independently in their home, working at Winn-Dixie, building model cars, traveling around to different parks in the area, and going to flea markets.  He was unpretentious and lived his life as a friendly and caring person to all who knew him.

Graveside Services will be held on FRIDAY, August 26, 2022, at 2:30 PM in Stone Road Cemetery. Please use the Pearson Street entrance [MAP].

Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
