Richard M. Rosenbaum July 28, 2019 at age 88. Survived by his loving wife of 61 years, the former Judith Kanthor, children Amy (Kevin) Steklof, Jill (Jack) Ascher, Matthew (Hope) Rosenbaum, Julie (Eric) Skolnick and 13 grandchildren. Judge Rosenbaum had a national role in politics, advising four US Presidents as Monroe County GOP Chairman, New York State Republican Chairman and then Republican National Committeeman. A former State Supreme Court Justice and advisor to Governor Nelson Rockefeller, he twice attempted to obtain the Republican nomination for Governor, in 1982 against businessman Lewis Lehrman and then in 1994 against eventual Governor George Pataki. He was a friend to many in the Rochester legal community, having served as a long-time partner at the Nixon Peabody law firm. Funeral services will be held TUESDAY, JULY 30TH at 11AM at Temple Beth El, 139 Winton Road South. Click HERE for a map to Temple. Interment to be at Mount Hope Cemetery. Shiva will be held at 19 Denonville Ridge Tuesday – Thursday 7-9PM; Friday 2 – 4PM; Sunday 2-4PM and 7-9PM. Click HERE for a map to the Shiva House.
