Howard passed away on January 1, 2026 at the age of 70. He is survived by his loving family members – Justin Dang (partner), Nancy Arnow (sister), Gary Arnow (brother-in-law), and Amy Arnow (niece). As a lifelong resident of Rochester, Howard had a profound impact on the community from all walks of life. He enjoyed a 36-year legal career, mostly with JPMorgan Chase, served as President of both the Jewish Federation of Greater Rochester and Jewish Community Center, and was a United Way Board Member. Following retirement, Howard started his “encore career,” which he described as a labor of love. He co-founded “Pencils & Papers”, mentored RCSD students which earned him the nickname, Grandpa Howard and supporting a high school group of young men called the “Talented Tenth”. Howard will be remembered for his generosity, his belief in others, and the lasting difference he made in so many lives.
