Jerry was born in the Bronx to Moe and Bessie Wiesenberg in 1941. Jerry met his wife, Arlene in 1973 and they have been happily married for 53 years. Jerry lived all over New York city, built a home for his family in Manchester, Vermont, and spent his final years in Henrietta, New York playing grandfather to his grandson. Jerry lived a life dedicated to serving his community and this commitment always rewarded him with the responsibilities of leadership. He enlisted in the Army right out of high school and earned the rank of Sargent. He joined his local chapter of the Lion’s club in Manchester, VT and served a term as their President. He helped solidify and nurture the small Jewish community he joined in Manchester, Vermont and served two terms as their President while guiding the creation of a new building for their growing congregation’s needs.
After he retired and moved to Rochester, he joined the congregation at Temple Sinai and donated his time and skills to build the backdrops for multiple plays at the JCC. He found joy in spending time with family and friends.
