Passed away on August 27, 2024, at the age of 88.

Predeceased by her son, Andrew Baraf; sister, Tova Gallancey-Sallinger; and parents, William and Harriet [Block] Gallancey. Survived by her daughter, Susan Baraf-Maness; grandchildren, Hillary Lauren Maness and Samuel Bryan Maness; niece, Bev Warshai; nephews, Jermey Sallinger and Bruce Sallinger; extended family, Dr. Daniel Mendelson and the rest of the Mendelson, Family, Angelica Butte, Shana Olson and Dana Donaldson; many cousins and dear friends.

Joan had a lifelong dedication to Social Work. She won the Hannah G. Solomon Award for changing the lives of others through her leadership efforts and service.

Graveside Services will be held on WEDNESDAY September 4, 2024 at 1 PM at Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends are asked to gather at the Main Entrance (across the street from The Distillery). CLICK HERE for a map to the cemetery.
