It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joyce L. Goldstein (nee Hoffman) on October 10, 2024 after a short battle with sarcoma cancer. Joyce passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones.

She is survived by her four children: Gary (Jill B.), Bruce (Jill), Sheryl (Cindy), and Brian (Marcia), along with her nine grandchildren: Jessica, Vanessa, Parker, Danielle, Chad, Jordan, Oliver, Paige, and Sarah-Jaana, and her ten great-grandchildren. Joyce is also survived by her beloved sister, Barbara Klein. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Perry Goldstein.

Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, Joyce lived life to the fullest.  When she married the love of her life, Perry Goldstein in 1952, she moved to Rochester. A vibrant member of the Jewish community, she was known for her boundless energy and her ability to make friends with everyone she met. Joyce was a lover of both golf and tennis – and her left hand serve scored many points. In fact, her impressed grandchildren lovingly said how she was like a golden retriever on the tennis court, getting to every ball with determination and a smile. She enjoyed her winters in Arizona, where she continued her active lifestyle. Forget fancy clothes. Joyce loved her sweats and was yoga chic before it was cool. She was always the life of the party, bringing joy and laughter to every occasion.

She also poured her values into her children to always be there for each other and value Judaism as well as honesty and decency.   Family was always first and foremost.

Her family and friends will miss her dearly, but they will forever cherish the beautiful memories of her lively spirit, warmth, and unwavering love. And her witty sense of humor and word plays.

May her memory be a blessing.
