Julian (Yusie) Lee passed away peacefully at home on October 12, 2024. He was born September 10, 1928 to Joseph and Minnie Legumsky; raised in Rochester, New York, graduated from East High School and was an All Tournament selection for the 1946 Section V Basketball Champions. He served honorably with the US Marine Corps, graduated from The University of Buffalo, founded Stanmore Wholesale Liquors and enjoyed working many years at The Rochester Public Market. He loved travelling, playing handball, skiing, tennis, golf, the occasional play and countless hours at the JCC.  In 1979, he was elected to The JCC Sports Hall of Fame. He especially looked forward to the yearly golf trips with “the guys” to Pennsylvania, Florida and Ontario.

He truly loved spending time with his family, friends and countless meals with a broad spectrum of individuals. He was a great listener, questioner and occasional lecturer.

We all loved listening to his countless stories gathered over his 96 years.

He suffered silently with multiple medical problems over the years and remained a great friend to so many people.

Despite a difficult last few months, he continued to demonstrate his wit and sense of humor.

He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and is survived by Carol, his wife of 70 years; 4 children, Russell Lee, Sharon (Lee) Sisselsky, Debby (Tom) Bingham and Amy (Rich) Kobak; 8 grandchildren, Alex, Kaila (Sheldon), Tessa (Tee), Carla (Paul), Brenda, Charlie, Jaime (George) and Blake; 6 great-grandchildren, Finn, Jett, Miles, Sadie, Josie and Julian.

You will be missed and forever be in our hearts.
