Passed away on August 25, 2025, at the age of 59. Predeceased by her parents Arnold and Lucie Silverberg. Survived by her brother Dr. Howard Silverberg, sister-in-law Lynne Hamilton-Silverberg, nephew Joshua Silverberg and his wife Merissa Muller, and niece Elena Silverberg.

Karen grew up in the Syracuse area and settled in Rochester after completing her college degree at St. John Fisher University. Her career focused on helping those in need through the social work department at Rochester General Hospital and later by providing care and assistance to others in the community facing medical challenges. She faced her own medical challenges with courage and grit. Karen was known for having a good sense of humor and for being kind and caring.
