September 17, 2021 at age 89. Lenore was born on February 8, 1932 in the Bronx and was a graduate of Hunter College High School, City College of New York, and Hunter College. In 1959, Marshall promised that their move to Rochester would be for no more than 3 years. So much for that. Lenore was a stay-at-home mom for many years and returned to teaching in the 1970s. She taught English at Fairport High School and then became an adjunct professor at RIT. Along the way, she sang in the Rochester Oratorio Society and the Jewish Chorale, became a docent at the Memorial Art Gallery, joined ORT and the Friends of the Brighton Memorial Library, and was an active member of the JCC and Temple Beth El. She loved French, books, theater, opera, tennis, bridge, shopping, travel, and chocolate … and most of all her family.
Predeceased by her parents, Harry and Elsie Pariser, and her brother Dr. Sanford Pariser.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Marshall; devoted children Dr. Harold (Dr. Rebecca Sumner) Lesser, Ellen (David) Comisar, and Karen (Dan) Menachof, EIGHT granddaughters Andrea (Avery) Lesser, Emma (Dr. Bianca) Gonzalez-Lesser, Paula (Avery) Lesser-Lee, Roz and Jayme Menachof, and Rebecca, Nicole, and Bonnie Comisar; and great-grandchildren Liev, Noa and Adiv.
The family is eternally grateful to the incredible women on the second floor of Cottage 3 at Jewish Senior Life who took loving care of Lenore in her final years.
