On August 4, 2022, at age 81. Predeceased by her parents, Samuel & Annette Itkin. She is survived by her loving husband, Clifton; son, J. Grant (Steven Tesney) Caplan; grandchild, Cléo Annette Caplan-Tesney; brother, Howard (Susan) Itkin; nieces & nephews, Sarah Itkin & Jon Itkin; cousins and a community of friends.
Marjorie attended nursing school at Bryant College in Rhode Island. After graduation, she worked at Genesee Hospital. She married in 1964 and moved to the west coast, taking a job at Kaiser Hospital in Oakland in 1965 until 2022. She was also a professional model, working in San Francisco earlier in her time there. In 1975, she married Cliff (to whom she was lovingly devoted) and lived in the Oakland and Berkeley area. She was a fan of Jazz music and owned 400+ out-of-print Jazz records, having volunteered at the local Jazz radio station to help them stay afloat during difficult years. One of her loves in life was cooking and trying new cuisines at restaurants. She also enjoyed collecting art and antiques. She adores animals, including her dog, Isabelle, and the birds she enjoyed feeding every day outside in her yard.
Graveside Services were held privately in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
