April 28, 2021 at age 84. Predeceased by her parents, Edward & Ruth Gerstel; and brother, Alan Gerstel. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Dr. Ross Elkin; devoted daughters, Susan Elkin & Lisa (Larry) Jasper; adored grandchildren, Kayla & David; brother, Joseph Gerstel; nieces & a community of friends.

Marlene was a lifelong member of Hadassah. She taught in the Rush-Henrietta School District, worked at Cohoes & Stein Mart, and loved to golf. She was a patron of the arts & loved classical music & opera.

Graveside Services will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021, at 1 PM in Mt. Hope Cemetery.  A recoding of the funeral service can be viewed below.
