Martin H. Adwin “Marty”
Pittsford: Passed away on May 19, 2023 at age 80. He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Rita Adwin; and his brother Robert Adwin.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Donna Adwin; children, Karen and Jason; grandchildren, Jack, Alex, and Ella; and many dear family and friends too numerous to mention.
Marty was born in Dorchester, Massachusetts in 1942. He spent his youth in Boston and his heart remained there throughout his life. Growing up, he worked in radio, media, and learned the art of photography, where he would eventually spend his career.
When he and his wife Donna married in 1966 they moved back to her home town of Rochester to start a family and their business. Alwyn Studios was open for more than four decades, capturing the community’s happiest wedding and Bar and Bat Mitzvah celebrations. Through his work, relationships, and outgoing personality, Marty adopted Rochester as his home town; and the town embraced him back.
He loved a day on the water fishing, watching the Red Sox play at Fenway, or going for a summer drive in his red Chevy convertible. He spent countless hours with friends at the Jewish Community Center… his “happy place” and “home away from home”.
More than anything, Marty loved spending time with his family and his friends. Throughout his life, he relished bringing people together and celebrating life’s daily joy. There were no strangers to Marty; just people he had yet to befriend.
