Masha Vogel returned her holy neshomoh on the holiest night of the year, Yom Kippur. On 28 Tishrei she would have been 65 years old. Although short in years her life’s accomplishments are truly great.

From her parents, R. Shmuel Meir and Bas Sheva Silberstein, Masha absorbed her deep love for Yiddishkeit and Hiskashrus to the Rebbe. In 1981, on their third wedding anniversary, Masha with her husband and toddler came to Rochester NY to serve as the Rebbe’s Shluchim. As a Shlucha for over 41 years she was a powerhouse of Emunah, hospitality, friendship and kindness – especially to those who found themselves in the most difficult circumstances. The so many who loved her will sorely miss her sincerity, strength and genuine warmth while continuing to be inspired by her shining example. Masha is survived by her husband, Nechemia and children, Devorah Leah (Asher) Yaras – Rochester NY, Levi (Fraidy) – S. Augustine FL, Rishi (Yitzi) Hein – Pittsford NY, Chaim – Brooklyn NY, Moshe (Chayi) – Rochester NY, Mushkie (Mendy Posner) – Kingston PA, Chezky (Rochi) – Missoula MT, Shayna, Mendel (Mussy), Yossi, and grandchildren. She is also survived by by her sister, Rika Slavticki – Antwerp, Belgium, and Elie Silberstein – Ithaca NY.
