On January 24, 2023 at age 86. She is predeceased by her husband, Richard I. Reitkopp, and brothers Jon Sandburg and Alan Sandburg. Nancy is survived by her loving daughters, Elizabeth (Darin) Young, Caroline (Peter) Landgraff and Sarah Reitkopp; cherished grandchildren, Zachary, Vivian and Eli Young, Jack, Thomas and Janie Landgraff; sister, Justine Sandburg; brother-in-law, Howard (Ellen) Reitkopp; sister-in-law, Joyce Spingarn; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Nancy graduated from Mayville Central School in 1955 and Syracuse University in 1959. Upon graduation she moved to Rochester and began her teaching career at Dake Elementary School in Irondequoit. She later worked as Gifts Administrator at the Rochester Area Community Foundation for many years. In the interim she pursued a variety of interests and devoted herself to raising her family, for which they are eternally grateful.
Funeral Services will be held on TUESDAY at 11 AM in the Sanctuary of Temple Beth El (139 Winton Road South). Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends on TUESDAY from 3-5 & 7-9 PM & WEDNESDAY from 3-5 PM at 47 Oak Meadow Trail in Pittsford. Donations may be made to—Brighton Memorial Library, Chautauqua Institution, or the Jewish Community Center of Rochester.
