Norma W. Gingold passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025. She suffered from breathing difficulty
and heart failure due to Flash pulmonary edema. She was blessed to have been within her home
as she wished in her final moments of life. She was predeceased by her husband, Mathew
Gingold (with one “t”) and her sister Belle Deutsch. She is survived by her daughters Nancy
Gingold, and Linda Gingold Seaman (Albany NY), and her son Joe Gingold.

Norma was known as a person who had a kind smile, as well as a kind word, and/or story about
her work and her children. She was recognized for some of her artistic talents which included but
was not limited to: copper enameling, oil paintings, her unique expressions in pen and ink, and
her watercolor landscapes.

She worked for over forty years developing a wide variety of crafts and craft programs. She
would often talk about how she started working at age 13 years old developing a craft program at
the JCC Seneca Lake Camp. As a RIT graduate of the Fine Arts, she worked as a commercial
artist for many years creating designs for companies including Hickock & Sealtest. In her later
years working she developed craft projects and worked with Senior Citizens at the JCC teaching
recycled materials crafts, quilting, copper enameling, tile mosaic trivets, china painting, and
jewelry making. She was an accomplished scout leader for Troop 96, Scouting America (Boy
Scouts of America), as well as a Den Leader for Pack 96, Scouting America, member of the
Irondequoit Art Club, and a member of the Eastern Star.

We were blessed to have celebrated Norma’s 100th year old birthday this past January. She will
be dearly missed by her family and many friends. Her memorial service will be held at
approximately 12:30 PM on Friday, May 16, 2025 at the JCC Lipson Lounge, which is located at
