After suffering from a long illness, Robert (Bob) Mechur passed away on December 6, 2022. Predeceased by parents, Maurice and Ruth Mechur and father and mother in-law, Anthony and Beverly Shaw. He is survived by his loving wife Mary Ruf; children Melinda (Matt) Karp, Amy (Dan) Kramer, Nichole (Bill Frascella) Ruf, Christopher (Callan) Ruf; grandchildren Gabriella and Tyler Karp, Andrew and Emily Kramer, Maxim and Sienna Frascella, Beckett and Kaia Ruf; brothers Ralph (Linda Greenberg ) Mechur, Ron (Annie) Mechur; brothers in-law Anthony (Judy Rosenbaum) Shaw, David (Monica Morales) Shaw, Patrick (Nancy Gorman) Shaw, Jeremy (Heather) Shaw; sisters in-law Catherine (Alfred Mayer) McGrath, Lisa (Frank) Formicola, Amy Pulitano, Paula (George Shawrtz) Maier; many beautiful nieces and nephews.

Bob began his career in law practicing at Milbank Tweed in Manhattan.  He then moved to Rochester where he continued practicing until his retirement. He loved cooking gourmet foods gardening & photography.

Thank you Sue Keenan for all of your love and support. Also, a special thank you to the staff at the Jewish Home, 4th floor, Neuro Behavioral Unit and Tara Chimino for all of the loving care you provided for Bob at home – you are all very special people.

There will be a celebration of life gathering at a later date.
