Ruth Clausing passed away on January 11, 2021 at Maplewood Nursing Home in Webster, NY. She is survived by her 2 children, Sandra Clausing of Rochester, NY and Gary Clausing of Binghamton, NY. She is also survived by her nephews and nieces in NJ. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Don Clausing, her sister Selma Henick, and her brother Frank Schwartz.
Ruth’s family is very thankful for the entire staff at Maplewood Nursing Home in Webster where she received excellent care and loving attention for almost 4 years.
Ruth was an Executive Secretary and Office Manager for a NYC company before being offered a position as VP. She also served as a Spanish translator. She then married her beloved husband Don and moved to California with him. While he was attending his PhD studies at CalTech, she performed duties as the University Librarian.
Ruth is known for her love of dogs, having had many dogs during her childhood and adult life. She is also known for her love of music. She loved the violin, piano and classical music in general. She played the violin for many years; and played in a few community orchestras, as well as serving as the librarian for these orchestras. She also loved playing bridge with her beloved husband Don and their close friends. She is also known for her love of Gene Kelly and classic dance and musical movies in general.
