Passed away on November 23, 2023, at the age of 89. Predeceased by her parents, Louis and Sadie [Pfferstein] Leitman; and her brother, Sidney Leitman. Survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Henry Markowitz; her children, Ben (Anna) Markowitz and Carrie (Jim) Noble; her grandchildren, Sean, Emma, Megan and Ashlyn; sisters-in-law, Harriet Leitman and Rosalie Hutter; and nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Sheila was educated as a teacher and after graduating taught briefly. She then chose to stay home and raise her children. After her children were grown, she worked at the JCC of Rochester for 27 years.

Funeral Services were held privately.

The family will sit Shiva on THURSDAY November 30, 2023 from 3 – 5 PM at Brighton Memorial Chapel (3325 Winton Road South). Mourners Kaddish will be recited at 5 PM. CLICK HERE for a map to the funeral home.
