Passed away peacefully on August 11th at age 90, surrounded by family. Predeceased by her husband Theodore “Ted” Levinson, daughter Donna, parents Hyman & Anna Alva, siblings Sara Ouriel & David Alva. Survived by her son, Jeffrey; daughter-in-law Wendy; granddaughters Juliana and Mia; sister Rachel Weinstein; and many, many other relatives and friends.

A lifelong Rochesterian, Tillie was devoted to her family, friends, and community. She was a dedicated member of Temple Beth El for 65 years, serving in multiple volunteer roles, and of Irondequoit Country Club for 64 years, where she loved to socialize and stay active.

Her generosity was felt by everyone who knew her through her decades of service with Sisterhood, Hadassah, the Jewish Federation, and the Jewish Community Center. Tillie’s warmth and welcoming spirit touched countless lives, and her service leaves a lasting impact. Tillie always had kind and encouraging words, and her consistently positive outlook made her a joy to be around. In a word, she was sweet, yet possessed great personal strength.

Funeral services will be held MONDAY, August 15, 2022, at 10 AM in the sanctuary of Temple Beth El [MAP]. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. For those who cannot attend, zoom services will be streamed by the temple. The link can be found HERE.

The family will receive friends MONDAY 7-9 PM, TUESDAY 2-4 & 7-9 PM, and WEDNESDAY 2-4 PM at 585 Bonnie Brae Avenue [MAP].
