January 17, 1950 – January 4, 2021 with his family by his side. Ken was born in Rochester and attended Pittsford High School and Kent State University before earning a master’s degree from Western Washington University in Environmental Planning.
He worked as a land use planner for many years both in Rochester and in Bellingham, Washington.
Ken was an avid sailor who also loved fishing, canoeing, and tending to his garden. He will be remembered by the many campers he taught to sail at Camp Seneca Lake.
He was a peace activist, and worked both personally and professionally to preserve the environment.
Ken is survived by Margaret Natale Gordon, his wife of 44 years, and by their daughters Julia Baker (Matthew) of Marion, MA and Kate Ashley Gordon of Rochester, grandchildren, Theodore and Elise Baker of Marion, MA, father Burton Gordon, brothers Michael Gordon (Deborah) and James Gordon, sister Jane Gordon (Miles Zatkowsky) of Rochester, sisters-in-law Carol Bachmann (Dietmar) of Williamsburg, VA and Patricia Oltmann (William) of Arlington, VA, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Gordon family would like to thank their many dear family members, friends, neighbors, and the URMC Hospice Team for their love, care, kindness, and generosity.
Due to COVID restrictions a private funeral will be held.
