Madeline R. Schreiber
I am very sad to hear of Madeline passing. We often stopped to have a chat while walking our dogs of a lunchtime. I also am from England so we had a few things in common. I will miss our chats and meeting gooseberry. Kind thoughts always, Maggie

My deepest sympathy to the Schreiber family on your tragic loss. My heart goes out to all of you. The times I was in Madeline’s company she was a dear, warm lovely woman. May G-D grant you strength during this time. Sharon Martin Rona Roth’s sister-in-law

I send my heartfelt condolences to you Burton and to the family. Madelaine meant so much to me in my early married years and beyond. We attended Beth Sholam very often with our family and she was always there making everyone comfortable and was a marvelous host and teacher of customs. It is a very hard loss. I send my love and express my sadness.

Madeline, I am saddened to hear of your sudden tragic demise. This is your “book buddy” here from Cobbs Hill Park between the reservoir and Washington Grove. We never exchanged names but as you came upon me sitting, reading and enjoying an iced cappuccino you would say to your canine friend, “Hey, Gooseberry, here’s our book buddy.” You always carried treats for him and occasionally you would let me fed him. He loved to gnaw on sticks and he loved trying to wrestle them out of my hand. You would always laugh at our frivolity. I am going to miss our chats. We often just talked about the weather and current happenings but several times we had lengthy discussions in which we together solved all the world’s problems, If only the world listened, we would live in a different, better place. But it was a better place because of your presence. You have created a void in the universe with your departure. I always admired your vitality, smile, insight, values, progressive perspective, and carry-on attitude. Please know that you had a very large extended family who adored you and your spirit. Until we meet again, Rest In Peace, sweet lady. R. E. KastneR Your book buddy

Dear Burton and Family, Please accept my deepest condolences. Madeline was so nice! I have especially fond memories of those days, so very many years ago, when we worked together as volunteers on the Nutrition Committee whose efforts brought healthier food to our teens in Brighton high School. It was always a joy to spend time with her. May her name be remembered for a blessing! Phyllis Hirsch
