Robert S. Brody
Henrietta: Passed away on October 31, 2025 at age 82. He was predeceased by his parents, Samuel and Laura Brody. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patti Brody; children, Samantha (Andy Antonucci) Brody-Antonucci, Harlan (Sandy) Brody; grandchildren, Lorenzo and Rudy Antonucci, Morgan and Miles Brody; brother, Charlie (Cindy) Brody; extended family and many friends.
A proud Rochesterian, Bob dedicated his career to teaching auto mechanics at Jefferson High School in the Rochester City School District, where he inspired generations of students. In and out of the classroom, he led by example—instilling in others the values of hard work, respect, and service to others.
Bob’s lifelong commitment to community extended far beyond education. He served as an EMT and in various leadership roles at Brighton Volunteer Ambulance. His passion for helping others led him to establish a K-9 Search and Rescue unit through Brighton Ambulance, expanding the reach and effectiveness of local emergency response efforts. He was a first responder to Ground Zero following the attacks of September 11, where he and his K-9 partner, Cori, assisted in search and recovery operations.
For decades, Bob alongside his wife, Patti, served with distinction in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was a Flotilla Commander, Division Commander, and District Captain. During this time, Bob and Patti received national recognition from the U.S. Coast Guard for saving seven lives on Lake Ontario—a reflection of their unwavering dedication to helping others.
Those who knew Bob will remember him as a silent hero—a man who led with humility and heart, a practical jokester who always had a quick one-liner ready to make you laugh, and someone who showed up when it mattered most. Most of all, he loved his family. He was kind, loving, and thoughtful, embodying a life of service in every sense of the word.
A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, November 2nd at 2PM at Mount Hope Cemetery, those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the main entrance to the cemetery (across from the Distillery Restaurant) at 1:45 PM.
The family will be receiving friends on Sunday November 2nd from 3:30 – 6:00 PM at The Legacy at Cranberry Landing , 300 Cranberry Landing Drive, Rochester, NY 14609.
