Passed away on November 19, 2025, at the age of 97. Predeceased by his wife, Suzanne [Davis] Friedman; parents, Joseph and Sophia [Lubelle] Friedman; brother and sister-in law, Norman and Rose Friedman; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joan [Davis] and Seymour Fogel; and brother-in-law, Martin Davis. Survived by his loving companion, Nancy Branagan; daughters, Judith (Cliff) Binder and Karen (Tom) See; grandchildren, Abigail Binder, Kayla (Madison) Combs and Brandt (Autumn) See; great-grandchildren, Rylan Combs, Allen See, Millie Combs and Ellis Combs; step-children, Patrick Branagan, Liam (Florencia) Branagan and Eamonn Branagan; step-grandchildren, Graeme and Colin Branagan; and nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Stanley was born in Rochester and lived here his whole life. He graduated from Syracuse University in 1951 and Syracuse Law School in 1954. He practiced law in Rochester for 62 years, specializing in real estate, banking, mortgage, and corporate and commercial law. He was a partner at Lubelle, Friedman, and Greenfield, President of Friedman and Greenfield, P.C. and a partner at Chamberlain D’Amada, Oppenheimer & Greenfield. He was a member of the Monroe County Bar Association, the New York Bar Association, and the American Bar Association, serving on several legal committees and councils.

Stanley was active in the community throughout his life. He was on the Board of Directors for the Jewish Community Center of Greater Rochester (JCC) and served on the Board of Trustees for Irondequoit Country Club. He was a founder and active supporter of the JCC Campership Golf Invitational. He also supported the Kidney Foundation. Stanley was a Mason, serving as Past Master for the Flower City Lodge #910. Stanley was also involved with the Jewish War Veterans of the U.S.A., the Mendon Conservation League, and Temple B’rith Kodesh.

Stanley served in the Army after he finished law school and had the opportunity to participate in an Honor Flight to Washington DC in 2023.

Stanley is remembered for his friendliness, kindness, thoughtfulness, and generosity. He was a man of deep faith and tradition. He was always full of joy, appreciated a quick wit, and valued his relationships with family, friends, colleagues and clients.

Funeral Services will be held on MONDAY November 24, 2025 at 10 AM at Temple B’rith Kodesh (2131 Elmwood Avenue). CLICK HERE for a map to Temple.

A procession will follow to White Haven Memorial Park.
