Susan A. Korpeck
I’m so sad to hear of my cousins passing. We lost touch over the years, but spoke a little a couple years ago. May she rest in peace.

Sue was such a wonderful person. I've been her neighbor for the last few years, and she was so welcoming to me and my kids and really made my transition to living in Brighton so smooth and wonderful. She asked about my boys every time I saw her and shared stories about her nieces and nephews. May her light continue to shine.

What a wonderful lady Sue was. I was lucky enough to be a locker neighbor of hers in the Women' Health Club at the JCC for many years. I always looked forward to our locker room chats and I recall that she helped me out by supplying me with extra undergarments she kept in her locker when I occasionally forgot to pack them!! I also recall participating in her beloved cycling group a few times and will never forget the warm welcome she gave me whenever I saw her there. She spoke so lovingly about her neices and nephews and Temple Beth El. I admired her for her independance, strong work ethic, dedication to community, and how well she took care of herself. May her memory be a blessing.

Dear Family and Friends of Susan Korpeck - I am so sorry for the loss of your loved one. May Susan's memory be for a blessing. May the memories that you made together with Susan help to ease your sorrow and in time, bring a smile to your lips. I feel privileged to have met your loved one. I will never forget the warm welcome that Susan gave me when I started attending services and other events at Temple Beth El four years ago, as the sun was starting to set on my Congregation and we started the process of integrating with Temple Beth El. Susan's warm smile and quiet, caring Neshama shone through her eyes, and put me at ease whenever we met. I will truly miss seeing her at services and the other events. Again, I offer my sincerest condolences. - Ruth Kei Steinberg, President Temple Beth Am

Sue's passing has left so many of us in the Brighton/Monroe County community heartbroken. She was a great friend and supporter of the Democratic Party. She helped me and many others on their campaigns over the years, and I was privileged to have her by my side and to count her as a friend. I was always impressed by her dedication to the care of her mother, to her commitment to wellness personally and as a nurse on behalf of the special needs community, to support of Israel especially during challenging times, and to working on behalf of candidates whose values and efforts brought about good government and justice. I will miss her. May her memory be a blessing.

I've known Sue for almost 20 years. We worked together at Independent Nursing Care. I enjoyed working beside her administering Flu vaccines. She always expressed how much she loved Independent Nursing Care. Sue was a professional and compassionate Nurse. I always enjoyed our conversations whether it was about work or life. I'm so happy I had the opportunity to talk to her before her passing. I looked up to her being that I was a new Nurse myself. She would always give me good advice. I will miss her dearly. RIP Sue, you will never be forgotten!

I was so saddened to hear of Sue's passing. When my parents moved to Roby Drive, she was the first friend that I made. She was an excellent babysitter and she had babysitting jobs with all of the neighbor's children on the street. She had a reputation for being conscientious, caring and very good with children. She soon had more babysitting jobs than she could handle, and the neighbors knew that we were good friends, and they started calling me. Because of Sue, I quickly raised enough money to purchase my first Beatles album. I have such wonderful memories of those days of spending time with her and her family. Barbara and Larry, I am so sorry for your loss.

Susan lived a life defined by passion—passion for her family, her friends, and her dedicated work in nursing. She used her profession as a way to touch lives and spread healing, leaving a positive mark on everyone she cared for. It has been said that some people come into our lives, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never the same. Susan was exactly that person to so many of us. As we remember her, we carry those footprints with us, grateful for every moment we shared.

I met Sue while I ran for office over 10 years ago. Her support as a volunteer coordinator and companion to events, the public market, and parades are among the beautiful memories I cherish. I am grateful for her sincere friendship and for her kindness. May Sue's commitment to her beliefs, her dedication to the children she served, and her loyalty to family and friends continue to be remembered by those whose lives she touched.

To the family of Sue, I am so very sore to hear about Sue. I worked with her at the Genesee Health Service I first met her when she was a Nursing Student on the floor where I worked. I have many wonderful memories of her. With Sympathy, Jean Dolan

Although I only met her a few times, I can only imagine how she touched the world as a daughter, older sister, aunt, etc and many friends within her temple community as well as her social friends. It can’t be denied that throughout her nursing career, she also touched many lives. My heart goes out to the family and others that loved her.

I graduated BHS in 1971; Larry and I were both in that class. My most vivid memories of Sue are, first, crewing for sailboat races on Lake Ontario one summer on a 38 foot sailboat, with Sue also a regular member of the crew. Second, I saw Sue at the home of very good friends after their father died in early 2023. Sue brought an apple cake that was incredibly moist and tasty. At my request, she e-mailed the recipe to me. I now make this cake (multiple times) every fall, and, for me, it will always be "Sue's Apple Cake." If anyone here wants this recipe, I'll be happy to e-mail it out. 🙂 I just found out that Sue was ill about a week ago. I'm sorry I didn't know earlier so I could reach out to speak with her. My sincere condolences to Larry, Barbara and the rest of the family and close friends. Sue will be missed.
