Martin S. Weingarten
Marty changed my life as a representative from Penfield High School and then officer in Teen League in 1967-68. By instilling in us a sense of service, community, and dedication, he brought students from across the area together to form friendships and collaborate on numerous service projects. He always treated us and the organization seriously and with respect. Marty gave me opportunities I had never dreamed of and that I treasure to this day. I cherish the memories of his sage advice, his impish smile, his dry sense of humor, our time together and his friendship. Thank you, Marty.

Center for Youth is such an amazing legacy that Marty leaves. Loved how detail oriented he was, always had great questions, amazing energy and I so appreciated his passion for CYS and the young people it serves.

I was Teen league VP from 1967-1968. I spent many days each week with Marty, Dennis Mcloskey, and other officers and chairpersons planning and supervising activities and events. I have never been so busy as I was that year. Much to my surprise, I enjoyed every second of it. Marty's guidance was invaluable and was key to a smooth transition from one set of officers to the next. My only complaint was that there was no formal means to keep in touch with the many friends from other schools that I made that year. As for Marty, surely we can say: A life well lived. The City of Rochester and its youth are so much the better for all that Marty did in a career that spanned a half century or so. As for me, I offer Marty my thanks and gratitude for the oversight that he provided me in my role of VP and for all he did to help me become a better person.
